Recent patent findings indicate Amazon’s AI will prioritize comprehensive product attributes and everyday conversational language in product listings. This represents a fundamental shift—from "finding products then researching attributes" to "specifying attributes then discovering qualifying products."
To succeed in this new voice-powered environment, Masters recommends brands:
Fully Populate Attribute Fields: Brands must ensure all relevant product attributes, including technical specs, materials, and usage details, are thoroughly documented. Missing attributes could exclude products from Alexa+'s recommendations.
Optimize for Conversational Queries: Listings should be written using natural, everyday language, matching the way consumers speak rather than traditional search keywords.
Strengthen Brand Recognition: Brands must actively build recognition through external marketing, PR, and social channels, as voice interactions often rely on customers explicitly requesting brands by name.
Monitor and Test Voice Interactions: Brands should proactively test how their products are featured through voice queries, adjusting content based on real conversational use cases.
Masters highlights that historical user behavior—such as purchase and cart-add rates—will also influence product visibility. This underscores the importance of ongoing performance-driven strategies.
