Welcome Chad Rubin to the Billion Dollar Dream 100
The Billion Dollar Dream 100 are the people you should follow and get to know. A new member is announced in no particular order every few weeks.
Chad Rubin is today’s inductee into the Billion Dollar Dream 100.
Chad is an OG in the Amazon and e-commerce space.
One of his earliest ventures and where he cut his e-com teeth was with Think Crucial, a direct-to-consumer vacuum filter brand he started after being laid off from Wall Street during the 2008 financial crisis.
He co-founded the Prosper Show in 2005, which became the most attended Amazon conference outside of Amazon’s own events (it was later acquired).
Chad then co-founded Skubana, a software platform to help e-commerce businesses manage their inventory, orders and operations across multiple sales channels like Amazon, eBay and Walmart. It was acquired in 2021.
His latest venture is Profasee, a pricing platform that uses AI to help Amazon brands predict ideal product prices to maximize profits without sacrificing their sales rank.
He is also a prolific contributor on Linkedin, where he offers his unbiased and unfiltered opinions, as well as valuable and insightful advise for sellers.
🏷️ DOCS LEAKED on HOW GOOGLE SEARCH WORKS
If you are using Google to boost your sales either on Amazon, Shopify, your software or service provider website or to your blog or newsletter, you may want to read the leaked documents from Google on how search works.
Some of the highlights:
Brand recognition matters immensely for organic search rankings on Google. Building a popular, well-known brand should be the top priority rather than technical on-page SEO.
For example, if you can make your Amazon product or brand name highly searched for and clicked on, it will likely rank well even without perfect on-page optimization.Driving high click-through rates, long clicks (not quick bounces back to the search results), and "good clicks" from real users, especially those using Chrome browsers logged into Google, can boost organic rankings.
Tactics like driving search volume for your exact product/brand name and getting those searchers to engage with your listing in the search results can improve rankings.Getting listed in Google's link index tiers, especially the high-quality tier, is important for links to pass authority. Links from pages with real, human traffic that get clicked are weighted more heavily. Building links that real users click on, not just any links, should be the focus.
Google appears to have whitelists of trusted sites for verticals like travel, health, politics/news. Earning inclusion into those could provide a rankings boost, though the criteria is unclear. Focusing on E-E-A-T (experience, expertise, authoritativeness, trustworthiness) may help.
Classic ranking factors like anchor text optimization are less important compared to user behavior signals. Optimizing page titles still appears to carry weight.
Newer and smaller brands will struggle to compete against large, established sites until they build up significant brand recognition, links, and user engagement signals over years. Patience and investment in long-term brand building, not just short-term SEO tactics, is needed.

🔎 AUDIT YOUR LISTING USING COSMO DATA
This nifty free GPT uses AMAZON’s COSMO scientific papers and documents to analyze your ASIN and let you know how COSMO rates your Amazon listing.
It gives you advice on want to consider fixing to rank better. I entered a random ASIN for a portable fan (B0CRDT715R) and this is what it said:
Visual Content (Score 4/10):
Quality: The images are of decent resolution but lack professional quality. They appear somewhat amateurish, affecting the overall presentation of the product.
Relevance: The images are relevant to the product, showing it from various angles, but they do not fully showcase all features and uses.
Target Demographic: There is no clear image featuring the target demographic. Including such images would help potential buyers better relate to the product.
Lifestyle Images: There are a few lifestyle images, but they do not effectively depict the product in real-life scenarios. Adding more diverse lifestyle images would be beneficial.
Written Content (Score 4/10):
Product Description: The product description is brief and lacks optimization for intent-based search. It should focus more on how the customer uses the product and who it is for.
Bullet Points: The bullet points highlight key features but are not very detailed in terms of customer-centric benefits. They could be more engaging and informative.
Engagement: The text could be made more engaging by adding usage tips, stories, or specific benefits that resonate with potential buyers.
Q&As (Score 0/10):
Evaluation: There are no Q&As available for this product, which limits the amount of contextual information provided to potential buyers.

🧳 TO TRAVEL IS TO LIVE
→ here’s looking at you kid
My “why” has led me to visit 94 countries and all 7 continents. I create my business around my life. Not my life around my business.
I hope to inspire you in your journey of business and life with photos, a short video I filmed, and a brief description of my time there.
A journey through time and tradition
NOTE: When I traveled to Myanmar it was before the current conflict. I want to share with you what I experienced. Hopefully it returns to the way it was.
Myanmar (Burma) is a country that has experienced decades of isolation, and discovering its rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes was magical. You'll feel as though you've stepped back in time, surrounded by ancient temples, traditional villages, and warm, welcoming people.
Immerse yourself in the bustling streets of Yangon, where the majestic Shwedagon Pagoda dominates the skyline. This awe-inspiring complex, adorned with gold and housing sacred Buddhist relics, serves as a testament to the deep spiritual devotion that permeates Myanmar's culture.
Experience the enduring traditions of the Burmese people, from the application of fragrant thanaka paste to the faces of women and girls to the daily rituals of monks collecting alms at dawn.
Venture beyond the cities and discover a countryside steeped in timeless beauty. Traverse the serene waters of Inle Lake, where stilted villages and floating gardens paint a picturesque scene.
Encounter the fascinating Kayan "Long Neck" women, whose brass neck rings and unique customs have been passed down through generations.
Journey to the ancient city of Bagan, where over 2,000 temples and pagodas rise from the plains, creating an otherworldly landscape that will leave you breathless.
Climb the steep stairs of temples like Tayokye Pyay to survey the magnificence of this architectural wonder, considered one of the top 20 wonders of the world.
Witness the ingenuity of local fishermen as they masterfully navigate their boats using a distinctive leg-rowing technique, leaving their hands free to cast nets and spears.
Myanmar's allure lies not only in its iconic landmarks but also in the warmth and resilience of its people. Despite facing challenges and change, the Burmese maintain a deep connection to their traditions and a genuine appreciation for those who come to experience their culture.
So pack your bags, bring an open mind, and prepare to be captivated by a culture that has remained largely untouched by the outside world for decades.
