Trung Phan on Linkedin recently posted this interesting tactic. Thereā€™s a wild arbitrage hack going on between Amazon and Temu and itā€™s costing some sellers big bucks.

It's working because a lot of Amazon merchants are from China or donā€™t differentiate their products enough. Temu is aggressively offering better terms (eg. less of a listing fee) to repost products under different name on its platform.

In some case very similar items, some which could be counterfeit, are also being returned to Amazon and getting full Amazon refunds.

Amazon doesnā€™t thoroughly check every return, so if it looks similar, itā€™s refunded. So buyers are ordering on both platforms, getting it in a few days from Amazon, then when the cheaper Temu version shows up a couple weeks later they return to Amazon for a refund, thus saving a lot of money.
