STUMP BEZOS

Chinaā€™s Ministry of Human Resources officially recognized live streamers as a profession earlier this year. How many ā€œprofessional live streamersā€ are there in China?

[ Answer at bottom of email ]

Welcome Matt Kostan to the Billion Dollar Dream 100

Periodically I announce a new member of the Billion Dollar Dream 100.

These are the people you should follow and get to know. Theyā€™re announced in no particular order. 34 have been announced so far out of 100.

Many of them will be at the BDSS Market Masters Think Tank in February you are invited to attend.

Matt Kostan is todayā€™s inductee into the Billion Dollar Dream 100.

Matt Kostan is a serial entrepreneur, speaker, and brand creator. He is the CEO and co-founder of ProductPinion, a company that helps Amazon sellers increase their sales through testing and consumer insights

Mattā€™s been selling on Amazon and Shopify for over 10 years, creating several 7-figure brands along the way. He has also launched 8 different successful Kickstarter campaigns.

The cool thing about Matt is everything he teaches and talks about is based on real experience. Thereā€™s no B.S. Unfortunately, many speakers and Amazon gurus do not teach from experience and actual results.

Mattā€™s in-the-weeds approach shines in his presentations, as he is always placing first or second in BDSS Hack contest webinars.

He loves to travel and experience new places (or maybe it is just to escape the cold winters in Canada). If you are coming to Iceland in April 2025 for BDSS XI, youā€™ll be able to meet him there (he won a ticket for having the best hack).

šŸŽ„ STEAL P&Gā€™s AMAZON HOLIDAY STRATEGY šŸŽ

Procter & Gamble is a billion-dollar powerhouse behind brands like Venus, Gillette, and Braun, to name a few.

Ever notice something clever they do with their listings during the holiday season?

They add festive touches like a bow to almost all their Amazon main images. While it might seem gimmicky, thereā€™s psychology behind it.

Not only does it make you stand out in the Amazon search results - it instantly communicates the holiday season.

Say someoneā€™s shopping for a razor for themselves. That festive bow? It subtly nudges them to think, "Hey, this would make a great stocking stuffer too!"

Itā€™s the same reason stores go all out with holiday decor and music. It bypasses the rational part of your brain and encourages you to spend more.

How you can beat them at their own game:

Newly minted BDSS Dream 100 member Matt Kostan from ProductPinion has released a Holiday Bundle packed with over 100 festive eye candy PNGs (way more than just bows) you can easily add to your main product images.

Itā€™s a proven way to increase your click-through rate and stand out during the busiest shopping time of the year.

šŸ“« MAJOR CHANGES COMING to AMAZON RETURNS

Amazon's new return policy, set to take effect on January 1, 2025, will significantly impact third-party sellers.

  • The average cost to process a return for Amazon is about 17% of the original item's price

  • The average transportation cost of a return shipment is approximately $8.00

  • Two out of three buyers return at least one gift during the holiday season

  • At least $66.7 billion worth of product returns are pushed back into the supply chain annually

Costs for Amazon

  • Reverse logistics facilities require up to 20% more space and labor capacity per item than forward logistics facilities (normal outbound FBA warehouses)

  • Amazon has been covering most return shipping costs for FBA orders, charging sellers an average of $5 as a refund administration fee per item

  • The process of returning e-commerce items and potentially re-selling them can result in up to 10 billion extra trips each year
